The Story of Hiway Cattery

I started breeding cats in 1985 when I was 16 years old. In 1989 I obtained my fist registered Siamese, TICA GC Ahkimea's Tiamat of Hiway.

Hiway Cattery was registered with the CFA in 1990. In 1992 I was given litter mate sisters GC RW Silmara F. Stella of Hiway and Silmara Egyptian Art of Hiway DM.

Their sire CH Silmara Yankee Jazzman would become the foundation cat for the Hiway breeding program. Egyptian Art went on to produce Hiway Storm DM an Ebony Oriental while Stella can be found behind all our Siamese today.

As a rule we never keep more than 5 cats at anyone time and average one to two litters a year. Today all of our cats are at least 7 generations Hiway bred and although other colors ocassionally pop up Seal Points are the focus. We no longer breed Oriental shorthairs.
